Slow and Sloppy Work

I expected that a CPA would do a better job than the HR Block online do-it-yourself, but I was wrong. After waiting months for Tom to finish our taxes, getting the return just a few days before the deadline, I found that his work was full of errors including wrong social security number!!! The cost - $300. I redid the taxes myself and ended up getting a refund that was $1573 more than what Tom had figured.

The Tax Terminator is great to work with and he is a very honest person. He has a very humourous personality which puts me at ease while he is doing my tax preparation. His prices are very low compare to other tax preparers.

The traditional method of filing for taxes is by contacting a local tax accountant's office. They can help you file your income taxes and understand the laws; all while providing a complete service and minimal fees. Simply contact several accountants in your area to compare fees and turnaround times. They can help with personal, business, LLC, military and student tax forms. A tax account (typically a CPA - Certified Public Accountant) is trained each year to keep up with the evolving tax laws.
With the advances in the internet and computer age, many people now opt to file taxes online. Online tax services can be performed over the web from your own home. Professional tax preparation software is available to run on PCs and Macs that can allow you to perform your own taxes and print out the required forms. The cost of this type of software can vary from state to state.
Be wary of any tax preparation services that offer their services as "free tax preparation". These types of services often prepare your taxes, but then charge you to file them with the state and federal agencies.
